The perfect place to start your Mt. Rainier adventure

The Camp

Just outside the entrance to Mount Rainier National Park, Camp Lois sits on a quiet, wooded .4-acre site within walking distance of the Nisqually River. No glamping here, just nature’s goodness—rustic, old-fashioned car camping at the edge of the park. It’s a simple base for hikers and other wanderers who need a place to park, camp, sleep, and eat, with easy access to Rainier’s heart.

The site includes an outhouse, picnic tables (each with a fire extinguisher underneath), and a fire pit for when burn bans allow. There’s no power, no water, and no garbage service—so plan to pack in and carry out. Tents, vans, and RVs are all welcome. Restaurants, gas, and dump stations are nearby, but Camp Lois keeps things quiet, simple, and tucked among the trees.
